100th Issue of G-Fan

My little tribute to G-Fan Magazine, which is reaching its 100th issue very soon. Here's hoping it goes on for 100 more!

Batman

In my illustration workshop class we had to draw film noir pictures. Batman's film noir last I checked, so I drew Batman. Batman was always hard to draw for me, it's the damn ears for some reason, so I was proud that this came out at least halfway decent-looking:)

kAIBUTSU!

The three principal monsters for "Kaibutsu," my kaiju version of "Watchmen" where I take different Godzilla monsters and come up with analogues set in their own universe for an original story. To read their origins, go to my Deviantart account at crocazill.deviantart.com.

Luctandor, obviously based on Godzilla
Arunah, based on Mothra

Last, but not least, Fragorsidus, based on King Ghidorah.
There should be more, as I continue to develop the world, but only time will tell if I manage to get anything done.

New kaiju story in the works

If anyone's interested, I've been working on a new roster of kaiju lately. I'm going to rough out some designs pretty soon for a project in my Professional Practice class, so they'll be done in about two weeks or so.

For the story I'm going to do what Alan Moore did for "Watchmen," take different characters and base new ones off them and tell a unique story. Instead where he based his off the Charlton Comics universe, I'm basing mine off Godzilla. Kaibutsu is the Godzilla analogue, while there's also going to be ones for Mothra, Gigan, etc.

The story is still in the planning stages, but what I'm aiming to do is depict what our world would be like if kaiju really existed. How would an engine of destruction like Godzilla or a godlike being such as Mothra influence our society? But there's a lot I still don't have. What will the aliens be like? Should I set it in Japan or America? When should it be set? Makes me wonder if I'll ever get the story complete. But you guys will get to see designs and hear the kaiju's origins, I promise. Two weeks

Rough zoo studies

Alligators make great subjects because they almost never move over the course of a few hours.
 Same with iguanas.
