Glenn Beck

A caricature of Glenn Back, whom Stephen King calls "Satan's mentally challenged younger brother." The disturbing thing is, listening to him you'd think he's putting on a show much like the Colbert Report, but he actually means what he says. This picture may have been done to make fun of him, but he does a pretty good job of it himself. If you really want to laugh just turn on the radio and listen to the crap that comes out of his mouth every day.

Skullweeds!

Skullweeds are roughly crab-sized carnivores that dwelled on the planet where Crocazill and Skylla found themselves.

Their name comes from the obvious fact that they resemble human skulls with seaweed trailing behind them, which they use to camoflauge with the vegetation. Though formidable in packs they are hardly the planet's most dangerous predator...

I got the idea for these things in a dream. One was peeking out at me from a rock in a forest. It was my friend Joe's idea to make the teeth look a bit more like spider legs.

Frankenstein's Monster

Consider this an early Halloween present. A study of Frankenstein's monster I did trying to combine both the traditional and novel's designs.

Squiggle sketches

A series of drawings I did to expiriment with a different shading style. By the way, Skylla is the drawing on the lower left-hand corner. The way you can tell the difference between her and Crocazill above is that she has differently-shaped head spikes and a slightly shorter snout. Otherwise I drew a woman's hair, my fist, and a mushroom cloud. I don't know if this is a style I'll be using extensively though.

Crocazill design

This here is Crocazill, my pride and joy, and my best character so far, probably since I've been working on it for so long. A lizard/human hybrid with the ability to climb walls and super strength (but don't worry, Spider Man he isn't). His story begins after he lands on a meteor-devastated Earth after having spent a long time on a distant planet with Skylla, another lizard/human and fellow traveller, and the adventures that follow as they meet old friends and new threats.

Joe Kubert study

A study to see if I could draw like Joe Kubert, one of my favorite artists. I especially love his recent graphic novel about Tor, his monster-fighting caveman. I also posted the original panel below for comparison. I think I could probably do better.

Godzilla face

A portrait of Godzilla done from a film still.

Some tough customers

Some designs of game pieces for a school project last year.

King Ghidorah and Godzilla

Two pretty decent illustrations of my favorite celebrities.

Ooh! Scary!

An old school assignment where we had to show an expressive face. I was inspired by "Death Note" and Brian Bolland's Joker. Kind of looks like a Shinigami, doesn't it?

Welcome!

Hello, my name is Robert Monsarrat III, and this is the blog where I will be posting my latest artwork. I am currently a junior in college and am hoping to break into comics. I am currently working on a story about a character named Crocazill which I think has the most potential, as well as some other minor projects. So I guess I have nothing left to say but stay tuned.
